The
Sixth Grade Class has learned to sew! After two class periods of
learning the blanket stitch, students designed a tree as a place and
symbol of growth, wisdom and exploration. Students stitched together
little circles and leaves out of recycled felted wool from old skirts
and pants in order to fill the bow of their growing tree. Many kept
sewing all sorts of special pieces, enough for pillows, too!!! Putting
in many extra hours, students completed this labor or love.
A
special thanks to Nancy Eakin, who sewed the wall hanging together, Beth
DelDucco, who did a lot of blanket stitch work, and Susan Mittan who
put the pillows together.
Value: Priceless!
